The Green Book is the “General Explanations of the Administration’s Revenue Proposals”. This magnificent book is a road map for figuring out how the Presidential Administration is planning on paying for their budget proposals. The Book is released every year by the Administration. Treasury actually compiles the book. It has been prepared every years since 1990, until 2018. The Trump administration chose not to release a book. A top Treasury official, unnamed by Bloomberg News, urged the incoming Biden Administration to renew the policy of issuing the Book.
Incoming Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen suggested that the Administration will issue the book when commenting on the passage of the American Rescue Plan in her statement “…the Green Book will give us a clue into the administration’s top tax priorities…”
The last Book, 2017, was only 272 pages long, but is packed with information concerning the Obama Administrations fiscal goals.
